Pickles of Ladera Heights

Hello, my name is Pickles. I live in the Ladera Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. I like it here. It's quiet and I get to meet lots of people out on their walks. I like to hang out outside my home to greet them. I'm very friendly and I enjoy pets and scritches. I met Sweet Slinky one day when she was exploring in my area. She told me she likes two nearby restaurants - Pann's and Jerusalem Chicken. I've never been to either one, my humans feed me well, but maybe some day she'll bring me some chicken. She has a walking route that goes by both places. She asked me to share it with you:

I hope I get to make your acquaintance some day! I wear a name tag so you'll know it's me.

The Cat Joy Project was conceived in late 2024 when I found myself feeling overwhelmed by a sense of doom and gloom. I needed to refocus my attention. And so the idea of creating quilted cat squares as a way to share my love of cats, walking, and Los Angeles was born. After spending the latter part of 2024 and the first month of 2025 teaching myself to sew, the project is now ready to be launched. The hand sewn quilted squares will be released on my walking routes for someone to find. Each square represents a cat that I have encountered either on one of my walks or at some other point in my life. Every cat has a story. You can read their stories here. If you find a cat square, you may keep it or relocate it to be found again. I hope this small gesture will bring some joy and happiness to those who find the cats and those who follow their stories.
