Zelda of Studio Antiques

Hello, my name is Zelda. Studio Antiques in El Segundo, CA is my home. People come from all over to hunt for treasures in my store. The luckiest and most observant ones find the greatest treasure of all - me! I like getting pets and chin scratches. My humans are friendly and will help you find anything else you might be looking for. My town is also a fun place to visit. You can take a stroll around the picturesque downtown, watch planes land and takeoff from LAX at Clutter's Park, and catch a show at the Old Town Music Hall, home of the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Pipe Organ. El Segundo is also where a man called Q-Tip left his wallet. I would not be surprised if it was found in my shop. Sweet Slinky comes to visit often and has put together a walking map that includes all these attractions and more. I hope to see you in person some day.

I almost forgot. There is another kitty that lives in my store. Her name is Shades. She's only been her a couple of years. Maybe some day she'll get her own square.

The Cat Joy Project was conceived in late 2024 when I found myself feeling overwhelmed by a sense of doom and gloom. I needed to refocus my attention. And so the idea of creating quilted cat squares as a way to share my love of cats, walking, and Los Angeles was born. After spending the latter part of 2024 and the first month of 2025 teaching myself to sew the project was now ready to be launched. The hand sewn quilted squares are released around L.A. and beyond for someone to find. Each square represents a cat that I have met. Every cat has a story. If you find a cat square you may keep it or relocate it to be found again. I hope this small gesture will bring some joy and happiness to those who find the cats and those who follow their stories. If you found a square, please leave a comment to let me know. Thank you!
