Mr. Cornflake of Rustic Canyon

Hello, my name is Mr. Cornflake. I lived in the Rustic Canyon, one of Sweet Slinky's favorite places to walk. Sweet Slinky always kept an eye out for me when she passed by my house. One day she met my human who gave her a piece of home smoked cheese. Although I am not around anymore my neighborhood is still a lovely place for an urban hike. There are lots of stairways and amazing views. You may not see many cats, but Sweet Slinky has spotted many other critters including tortoises, a mole, and a pig. If you are really lucky someone may even offer you a slice of cheese.

The Cat Joy Project was conceived in lat 2024 when I found myself feeling overwhelmed by a sense of doom and gloom. I needed to refocus my attention. And so the idea of creating quilted cat squares as a way to share my love of cats, walking, and Los Angeles was born. After spending the latter part of 2024 and the first month of 2025 teaching myself to sew the project was now ready to be launched. The hand sewn quilted squares are released around L.A. and beyond for someone to find. Each square represents a cat that I have met. Every cat has a story. If you find a cat square you may keep it or relocate it to be found again. I hope this small gesture will bring some joy and happiness to those who find the cats and those who follow their stories. If you found a square, please leave a comment to let me know. Thank you!
