Venice Walk Street Cat

 




Hello, I am a Venice Walk Street Cat. I live in one of the most beautiful places in L.A. Come visit me and explore the pedestrian only streets. There are lots of cats here and we like to hang out in our luscious gardens. Many of us, especially me, are friendly and we enjoy pets. Sweet Slinky has had the honor to pay me attention on more than one occasion. One day she hopes to meet my humans so the can tell her my name. She has also designed a walking map of my neighborhood that you can follow.







The Cat Joy Project was conceived in late 2024 when I found myself feeling overwhelmed by a sense of doom and gloom. I needed to refocus my attention. And so the idea of creating quilted cat squares as a way to share my love of cats, walking, and Los Angeles was born. After spending the latter part of 2024 and the first month of 2025 teaching myself to sew the project was now ready to be launched. The hand sewn quilted squares are released around L.A. and beyond for someone to find. Each square represents a cat that I have met. Every cat has a story. If you find a cat square you may keep it or relocate it to be found again. I hope this small gesture will bring some joy and happiness to those who find the cats and those who follow their stories. Il Gatto di Monteluco

Sono un gatto molto amichevole. Vivo vicino al convento di Monteluco. Sono un micio fortunato perché molti pellegrini che percorrono la Via di San Francesco vengono a trovarmi. Sono sempre felice di farmi accarezzare e coccolare mentre si riposano nel bellissimo parco di casa mia. Spero di vederti presto. Buon Cammino! Aggiornamento: Sweet Slinky è passata di nuovo da casa mia a Monteluco e ha conosciuto i miei umani. Le hanno detto che mi chiamavo Papillon e che mi sono ammalato circa un anno fa. Loro mi volevano molto bene. Così bene che hanno messo la mia immagine sulla copertina di un libro scritto da loro. Anche se non sono più lì a salutare i pellegrini che passano ci sono tanti altri gatti da vedere se dovessi capitare e da queste parti. I am a very friendly cat . King of the 6th St. Viaduct Cat Colony

I am the king of the 6th St viaduct cat colony. This is my story: I held court at the Boyle Heights neighborhood cat colony in the shadow of the 6th St. viaduct. I have moved on from the streets, but my colony is still going strong. There are feeders that care for the felines and do their best to get them spayed and neutered. Despite being an outdoor cat, I was quite friendly. I encountered Sweet Slinky many a time and let her pet me and take my picture. If you find yourself in the neighborhood pay a visit to the cats who still reside there. They can be found roaming around near the corner of Clarence and Inez streets.
